All,
Diane has been kind enough to upload a bunch of biography pages and some articles onto the website. We have many more pages that still need to be put into the new web design. Some other pages need to be updated. These pages were compiled by copying and pasting information from the threads at the littlebighorn.info message boards. Please look through the pages. It may be that I left out information you find important. I had to make decisions and apologize to everyone who feels neglected. Let me know if we should add something.
Regards
Dietmar

Hi Dietmar,
first, congratulations for the new website - looks amazing! Just a question: the info and pics posted in the threads "disappeared" from LBH will be fully or just in part uploaded in this new website?
Best wishes,
Jin

Thanks Jin,
the threads disappeared due to an electrical fire at the proboards server company. They assured Diane that all threads and information will be restored in the next days.
I hope this is true, because I only saved information from the littlebighorn.info boards until end of last year.
When it is back online, I will eventually transfer all information to this website.
Best
Dietmar

Thanks to all who have joined us!
Dietmar gets all of the credit for this site. He mentioned to me probably a year ago that he had seen message boards disappear before and that all of the great information on the other board should be preserved.
I've been the hold-up on this project, and for that I apologize. I'm only about half-way through what Dietmar has compiled, but I will be working on it as often as I possibly can.

Thanks to both of you, particularly Dietmar, for having the foresight to envision the danger of losing this information and photographs should the other board disappear. Diane - you are to be commended for the hard work involved. Dietmar as well. It;s easy for me to say "Keep Slugging Away!!" since I don't have to do any of the slugging.
I'm joining strictly for the Friday dances.
Gordie
ps I sincerely hope that you have taken steps to preserve my posts on the Info site, since I would hate to have to make everything up again!!!

Hi Dietmar & Diane Looks great and I just signed in. Hopefully the "old stuff "will be available in a short time. I was missing the May messages but as Dietmar said, it will be at this board in a few days. Lets go for it. Henri

Thank you for joining us: clw, jinlian, kingsleybray, grahame, gary, jim, hunkpapa, conz, azranger, biggordie, Henri, hans54, jmccalla44 and Wakalapi!!!
I hope we can match your expectations here, but I think it´s going to be good because you all are here and others will follow.
Henri, isn´t it a funny coincidence? We planned to launch the site on 1st of June since some weeks. And when that day arrived, the server of the old board broke down!
But as we said, we plan to transfer all information from the “Northern Plains Indian” threads to the new website. It surely will take some time. Diane and I already thought about the next step. It would be great to assemble new information on this new message board. Of course the Northern Plains Nations (Lakota, Cheyenne,…) will remain very important on this board, too. We have great experts of their history, if all will join in. But we can expand on other nations and tribes, perhaps we will find more people to participate in these discussions. Eventually all of the new information should be transformed into bio pages or articles, too. But we are still open for any suggestion in what direction we should go.
Best wishes
Dietmar

Diane and Dietmar,
I couldn't be happier and appreciate so much your far-sightedness in building this website! This information is crucial in so many ways. Thanks so much for all the work. I'll be a 'regular' here just browsing around! I love everything NA!

Diane and Dietmar:
That being the case, BITTE do not consider shutting it down. That will merely drive those of us who are interested in the Little Horn fights to another forum where that subject can be discussed, or where facets of it can be ridiculed at leisure.
There is much too much very good information there to have it simply locked up and the key thrown away.

Gordie,
I´m sorry for the misunderstanding. The littlebighorn.info site is Diane´s baby alone. I personally never wanted to state it should be closed. The old message board is our parent site which allowed us to have all these discussions we now try to develope further here. I am thankful for that. What I wanted to say is that we thought about locking the threads of the "Northern Plains Indians" board. As you can imagine, it would not be good to run two seperate boards about American Indian history. So I think it´s better not to continue those threads there. However, if some one likes to continue old threads (which is a good thing), please start a new thread here under the same heading. We will update the bio pages that are or will be online later.
Thanks
Dietmar
