I´ve seen this picture and can´t remember the name... but it´s surely not Red Cloud.

thank you both, Dietmar and GrahameW - truly appreciate it. There was a resemblance of course, but just that. Red Cloud had much shorter hair and it seemingly was not solidly white as with this one. I had found this image on pinterest - hate that site as it forces one to sign up with them and then its still cumbersome to navigate and also difficult to reach the originator of a posted image as in this case, where I would ask them to change the caption.

While he is often identified as being Nez Perce, this photo is actually a Palouse man known as Húsus Máqsmaqs (aka Hoosis-mox-mox, aka Heyoom Moxmox, aka Yellow-Haired Grizzly Bear), taken in 1900.
