I've seen different identifications for the people in the attached photo and am hoping some of the experts here can clarify who the different Apache members are, especially the 2 with the stars above their heads. Thank you so much for the help.

Man riding a horse is Larry Fun, a man dressed in a white shirt is Atelnietze, possible. Atelnietze did not give up with his relative Naiche September 1886. He stayed free in Mexico.

Thank you naiches2. Another source I saw also mentioned that the man on the horse I starred was Fun, but I've seen other photos of Fun and I wasn't confident that was correct. The man you named as Atelnietze is also a name I've come across, but there's almost no information online about him. I guess if that's the correct named person he must have been one of the Apache that never surrendered and eventually died somewhere in Mexico. You said that he was a relative of Naiche, can you give me some more information on that? I've also seen that man in the photo identified as She-neah but according to Jason Betzinez and Opler, She-neah was killed in a battle in 1882 so could not have been in this photo from 1886.

(Westwood) Atelnietze died in the last confrontation of the U.S.Army with free roamimg apaches in the Guadeloupe Canyon, 1896. At that occasion Masai escaped. Hi,
Sweeney wrote that Atelnietze was a first cousin of Naiche, full Chokonen, born circa 1848. AS apache tradition Naiche called him borther.
My guess, only mine and certainly wrong is that he was the son of a full sister of Cochise born circa 1820, strong build whose Cochise was confident of to guard a side of his stronghold in Arizona. (Atelnietze was tall as Naiche but more heavy) His father was maybe the "capitano" of Cochise in the 1850' who was killed in large raid in 1858. Cochise decided to stop this raid in Sonora just after the death of his brother in law. Atelnietze was mortally wounded in the Coshise stronghold as I remebered, in 1896, ten years after the final surrender of his cousin.
Just my guess
