Hi everyone! I'm an author looking for information. I'm interested in the Hopi tribe in particular. I want to know more about Native American naming, how they live in current society and other things. If anyone is interested in being email pals with me please let know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Best, Alujna

Ya know, if'n you want to learn about the Hopis, this is not the place. Your best bet is to go out there and talk with them. There is a nice motel on Second Mesa, run by Hopis. Nice folks. I spent a weekend there last month, catching up on old friends. Trythe blur corn pancakes. the Noquivi is good too.

Hi alujna. My suggestion is you first read a wide cross section of books, even the bad books, to get as much catch up info as you can. Once you have basic knowledge to work from, even mistaken knowledge, you'll better know what questions to ask, and which folks can give you worthwhile responses. I'm a wiseass, I admit, but if you are genuinely interested I will answer some questions, but I'm the type who invites JW's in, just to be neighborly. Can't help you with the Hopi, just Northern Plains tribes, but know this---if you ask a billion Indians any question (and that many Indians would seriously strain the BIA's modest budget), you might get a billion different opinions. Good luck with your writing.
