Hi all: I became 'obsessed' with all things Native American, particularly plains culture, when I was little boy of 8 or 9 years old in England. The interest never waned, and over the years, I devoured all kinds of books, films (good, not so good and plain garbage), in my quest for NA knowledge. Now in middle age, I stumbled on this forum and have been having a fantastic time trawling through all the posts, a veritable roller coaster ride of enlightenment. Some of it makes depressing reading, particularly Sand Creek, Washita etc. What bothers me (and most of us on here, I'll guess) are the continuing injustices being committed against the First Americans. The bad faith, the cynicism, the duplicitous nature of the politicos etc, are still alive and well in America, so apologists can't really hide behind the 'you can't compare 19th century attitudes/standards with the present day' excuse. Anyway, enough ranting on my part... My best wishes to all, looking forward to some great debate/reading. Pilamaya yelo. :-)
