Am trying to determine the band affiliation of the two apache subchiefs George and Benito/Bonito. One source tells me that both were White Mt. apaches but wound up leading Chiricahuas by 1881. Can't find anything on George, but another source tells me that Benito/Bonito married a daughter of Chihuahua, and that he, Bonito, wound up as an Army scout. So, it would seem to me that Bonito "married into" the Chiricahuas. Anyone have anything to add/correct?
