I would like to thank everyone here for all of their input on various threads, photos and opinions. Speaking for myself, an apache, your insights into different views of subject matters opens your eyes to other opinions and have greatly increased my knowledge on photos I didn't know existed. I have been really busy on a Chiricahua Apache Prisoner of War movie documentary. We are hoping to do our first showing in Mescalero at the Chiricahua Apache Freedom Celebration this weekend. Quick Synopsis: The Two Year Promise. As Chiricahua Apaches fight for their freedom and their right to exist, a greater power called the United States of America wanted to rid the Chiricahua of their homeland, beliefs and culture. As it is noted, the Chiricahuas were the fiercest of all Native American Fighting Groups and did not go down without a fight. Thru trickery, lies, and deceit, the United States was to remove the Chiricahuas from the American Southwest completely and nearly destroy their culture. Over 80% of their band did not survive the prison term. Thru 27/28 years of imprisonment, the Chiricahua people still exist today and are still able to tell their stories of survival. Total Running Time: 25 Mins. Distribution: Locally and Washington D.C. Maybe even a special Youtube Channel for my American-Tribes friends! Again, I would like to thank everyone here for all your knowledge! P.S. Once I get done with all my documentary obligations, I do have interesting stories and photos to share! P.S.S. The Mescalero Apache people are currently doing a run from Fort Sill OK to Mescalero to commemorate the 100 years of freedom. They have completed over 320 miles. They should be arriving here on Friday... over 500 miles in five days! Attachments:

I would like to thank you too for your always very informative, interesting and valuable contributions. I have learned a lot from you and I highly appreciate the patience, sympathy and honesty with which you address our questions. Thank you, penjady.
It has always been my wish to witness the Chiricahua Apache Freedom Celebration which takes part this weekend, unfortunately I can't afford it right now to travel to the U.S. Nevertheless I wish you and your people the very best going into the future. The Chiricahua have survived through a lot of hardship and they will continue to survive and keep their heritage alive.
I am very excited about your documentary, can't wait to see it and the stories and photos you might post once you get done with your documentary obligations.
I wish you, your family & friends and all of your people a very happy Freedom Celebration! Best wishes from Switzerland, Marco

wow - that's impressive!! Your run is not getting as much publicity as it should be ... but I do wish you well. Good things will come from all of your efforts!!
Let us know more about the documentary. One thing that has never been discussed very much is how the internment at Florida and Fort Sill really changed the Chiricahua's view of their world. I really hope that aspect of the lives of the people is brought out into the open a lot more.
best wishes, dT

Your Welcome, Penjady, but it is us to thank you, Mithlo and others for your sharing. Because books do not give everything, the informations given from blood history allow to feel the History of a people.
Encore merci à toi et ton peuple et longue vie à vous et votre culture. (Again, thanks to you and your people and long life to you and your culture)
Best wishes from France.

The showings went really well.
We invited several producers to the showing and they came flying out with offers to produce it. We are considering all but no hard decision yet.
We invited several noted authors (Edwin Sweeney anyone? Great guy by the way!) to watch it... they were surprised of the amount of CORRECT information we had.
It is really a touching piece and has moved tribal members in a way that, I, wanted them to. It is hard to direct/produce/edit to make those emotions but we pulled it off.
So my job today is to 1. Make calls for screenings, 2. Make the file small enough to show everyone here. It will be possibly in a PM with special instructions. Fingers crossed I can do it by this evening.

That sounds great, penjady. I'm happy all the producers "want the cake". It's always better to have more than one option.
I wish you and your team/friends a lot of success finishing the production.
Best wishes, Marco
