Around the time of the Gall photos, Barry took a series of images of Hidatsa (and members of the other two Berthold tribes?) against a winter backdrop. Some props familiar from other Barry photos make an appearance, including the 'rock' seats from the Gall series. I haven't yet seen this background used for any of the well-known Lakota. Wolf Chief on the left, looking a little heavier than in the Goff photo some ten years earlier. That's Harry Eaton on the right, a former scout and an informant for Colonel A. B. Welch. Unidentified The unidentified couple from the shot above; on some prints the man is identified as 'Joe.' Harry Eaton. His actual name was Sand Hill Crane or One Eye; he took the name Eaton from an army officer who took him East to 'educate' him. Unidentified Unidentified boy Unidentified with white man. Is that Barry? Blue Bird Unidentified Unidentified, but I've seen him labelled as Wagon or Wagon Man. I've also seen him labelled as a Crow; however, I've seen a different man assigned this name in another Barry photo, but with a different backdrop! Note the rock seat from the Gall series. Unidentified - the little wall features in many other Barry photos. Wet or Wet Crow? Wolf Chief Wolf Chief Harry Eaton Unidentified. One of these looks like the Indian standing with the white man in the photo posted above. White Calf Wolf Chief and Harry Eaton Yellow Bear

Oops, sorry Dietmar, I was editing my post and adding more photos, including those. I haven't got a name for that man either.
Is that Barry with the Indian?

Hau U2, I don't think that the white man above is Barry. Here are some pics of Barry at different ages: (I guess abt. 1880 - 1880 - 1900 - 1920) ... and here with Rain-In-the-Face: ... and here with Sitting Bulls widows and daughters in 1891 Toksha Gregor
