Hello Californian, a very nice photo of Black Horn. The photo was not taken in 1935, but in 1925 shortly before his trip to Europe. He worked there in a group of Oglala Lakotas at the end of 1925 in Bertram Mills Christmas Circus at Olympia, London and in 1926 in the German Circus Sarrasani.

Thank you Rudolf. This was part of a pair of photographs that I purchased from Evans Archives who are selling the Brown Brothers Archives negatives. The images were together, both taken in New York and on large format celluloid. The other image showed an unidentified man. I estimated the date based on other images. If you like, I can furnish you a high resolution scan. All you need to do is provide me with your email address. Hello Californian, a very nice photo of Black Horn.
