In the Lakota section everything is laid out by band...nothing general. I have some topics but I hate to pre-pigeon hole stuff. There should be one that just is Lakota. One that is just Dakota. And one that is just Nakota. No band affiliation. I posted something away from the pre-selected topics and the way it laid out by itself looks kind of goofy...  |

not sure where to put this, but do you think we could have the last 25 posts avalible rather than the last 10, as in the other board, I ask this because I am away quite a bit at the moment and fear missing some of the threads.

Brock's point is a good one. We've already got some excellent material on the Mnicoujou buired in one about the Hunkpapa -- I think. I've already forgotten exactly where I saw it. General categories would be useful.

OK -- I'm really confused. I see Brock's post, but no category for the board he made it on. In fact the only way I found it was to go to his profile and look at his posts. Then I found a sub board way down at the bottom of Teton/Lakota. Huh? Am I having one of my blonde moments?

No, Blondie, it's not you.  It makes no sense, but the main boards are below the sub-boards. Brock's post about the CH Trial is under the band boards. Each of the boards does have a main thread (without bands) but they have been buried under the sub-boards. Let me poke around and see if there is a way to remedy that. I know exactly what you mean. I almost missed the CH/Spotted Tail thread because of the layout. lowdog, your request is easy. Consider it done! |

I've posted a request on the ProBoards support forum, so perhaps they can tell me how to put the Teton board on top of the subboards. If that is not possible for some odd reason, would it work for me to move all threads out of the subboards and into the main board? In other words, there would be no band/council headings, just the major boards as Brock suggested (Lakota, Nakota, Dakota, etc.) I can see that would be advantageous, especially when dealing with people of split heritage. We already ran into that in the main pages with Crazy Horse. You'll see he is listed as both Miniconjou and Oglala here: www.american-tribes.com/Lakota.htm |

I get it now. But it does make the general category unlikely to be used where it is. Would it be too cumbersome to keep the band categories and just move them out to the main list? I think we could ungroup the Arapaho and just have one board. Then subjects something like --"Teton/Lakota", "Hunkpapa Lakota", 'Mnicoujou Lakota", etc. Less clicking that way too. I don't like the sub board structure, but I do like the bands in different categories.
BTW, thank you for putting CH in both places.
