The info given is great and thank you...I do have two questions. I've been told from my Father was was part Cherokee that Great Grand Dad Chief Bushyhead was lead scout for General Sherman's' March to the Sea. He was also in the Wild West Show with Buffalo Bill Cody. Do you have any info on this? I have been on many site and not one has connected the dots as well as you have Dietmar....any clues??? Thank you in advance....

I would like to know if anyone knows the true story of Chief Bushyhead. I've been given many stories from my Dad and Grand Mother about his treks and involvement during the Civil war. I've researched to no end and can not find : 1. If he was lead Scout for Sherman's March to the Sea 2. Was in a Wild West show 3. I know of the "Trail of Tears" but is that the same Chief Bushyhead or a son? If you have any answers please let me know as I'm at my wits end trying to go through the many pages of different stories. Thank you in advance...

I would like to thanks those who have started and run this site as I am new here and with my Indian heritage I'm interested in finding out how our family was formed. I am of Cherokee and my ancestry and I was told that Chief Bushyhead is a distant relation. Being a Dudley I'm a bit confused. If there is any one out there who can shed some light I will be a very happy person.
