Hi everyone! Sorry I've been away! Thank you for your replies. The whole case just makes me SO ANGRY. I have been up to my neck with all of the research, but I am about to finish up with the last part of the story and an epilogue today. I've spent a lot of time reading newspapers and congressional reports and trying to find legal documents, and it looks like the outcome was the Good Old Boy Network in Dodge City. Mike Sutton seemed to have a lot of friends. The finished post will be at www.itsabeautifultree.com in the next day or two-- I've been sick, so I am going to try to get it up today, but I can't promise! After researching all of this and studying it, I really want to go up there and see the area. And I want to do the Dull Knife Run, even thought I DON'T RUN ANYWHERE! This is just the most amazing thing I have ever read, and I am SO angry at what happened in the end. Stay tuned. In my newspaper reading and dot-connecting, I found some interesting things. They don't excuse anything, but they may explain some things. Julie

Hello everyone! I am new here-- I'm not of Native American descent, but after the mountains of research I've been under during the last few weeks, I feel like I should be! I am a genealogy blogger, and I wandered into the story of the State of Kansas v Wild Hog et al while working on another story. One thing that I am learning in my research is that no stories are the same. Almost every source has different information. I would like to appeal to you, the Northern Cheyenne online community, to help me. If you'd like to check me out first, I totally understand. The first 3 parts of the 10 part series are online already at itsabeautifultree.com/2016/04/05/six-sioux-chiefs-in-the-jail-yard/ (The title will make sense when you read the introduction!) I am very picky about making sure that my information is correct, and I try to see and tell stories from all sides, if possible. I am still working on the remaining pieces, but I am m mostly waiting on information about the court case and what happened afterwards to continue. Right now, I am looking for an online copy of Cheyennes In Court, but I can't find anything anywhere. I am also searching for anyone who can give me any insight as to what happened to everyone AFTER the trial was over. The inconsistencies in the records are confusing-- even the names of them men in jail in Kansas aren't consistent. It looks to me like the real victims were the Northern Cheyenne and the settlers-- the Army and the Government don't seem to have a leg to stand on. Can/will anyone help? I would like to include stories and photographs. It is mind boggling to me that this piece of history is completely unknown. HOW can something like this have fallen through the historical cracks? I really want to tell this story from everyone's perspective. Except the government. I've read their reports, and they have no excuse for any of it. Thanks! I really looks forward to talking with some of you. I've read about 5 books about this so far and I have 3 more coming in the mail. I want to know what y'all know! Julie
