Greetings, I found this site while searching for information about my J. E. Meddaugh cabinet cards. I'm hoping to share some of my photos/items with others on this board. Speaking of 'boards" ;D Here's a photo of a river marker (Fort Kearney Crossing 1848 -1871) from 1910 that I received many years ago. I have this photo and it says that this is Black Elk? The other photo looks to be the same person? If This is not Black Elk let me know and I will delete this post.

When he was eight years old his father was killed by the Cherokee Indians. He was adopted by the Sioux and given the name Fast Eagle. During the early 1870's he drifted north with the great cattle herds. He then settled for the rest of his life in the Black Hills/Deadwood area. He was also an accomplished poet.
