Did not know where else I could put this! Does anyone know the photographer who took a series of foto's of native american (leaders?) during the inauguration of pres. Wilson in 1913? The characteristic is dark background - sometimes only the face, so it looks "floating". Regards - wilson

Sitting Bulls Family? Skimming the pages of this really good homepage, and catching the Q. from "Gregor" in the Spotted Eagle thread, I find a couple of places, where fellow "colleges" (and I) has doubts about, who is who, in the family tree of SB. In my opinion the problem comes in two terms - the adopted children of Seen By Her Nation, and the twins of 1876. When Seen.. married SB around 1872 she brought two sons into the marriage - Little Soldier and Blue Mountain. Both of these boys are born between 1863 and 1869, according to my notes. Little Soldier is traceable from birth till death - but Blue Mountain is not - so who was he? Then the twins of 1876 appears, where William should be one, and ? should be the other (who was he?). The story goes that they were born during the LBH-fight, but..? Regardless of the fact, that I have not yet seen, in any literature, twins so early, not even in the latest lists, these twins is mentioned in several places without identification. Comments, anyone? Regards wilson

Has anyone a more complete material (data) on this exciting family's history. My search, till now, is giving me not more than some bits and pieces after reading several articles on the net - but I miss "the big picture". Generation 1, starting with Pierre Couc, and 2 with "The Madame"is ind place, but then things gets a little blurred. Has a lot of names and data for the following generations, but misses the right connection and reliability. Thanks! wilson PS. I do most of my studying on the internet - but if a certain book will do the trick, so...

To Dietmar: Thanks, my friend! A passage has slipped when I wrote the question! My interest was the twins of -76. Using the family tree you suggested, I was confirmed in my opinion, that there is no twins born to the family i -76! The only child born that year was Standing Holy. I know I come on a little strong, but I will stand on this, till otherwise proofed. Thanks again. To Gary: I believe Standing Holy's children was: Myrtle *1895 - Alice *1898 - Agnes *1899- Angeline *1903 and Sarah or Julia? *1907. A total of five. Please correct my if I am wrong! Best wishes to you all! wilson

Sitting Bulls other children (The sons of Seen By Her Nation): It seems difficult to get a clear identification of those two individuals. Here is my guess: William (John) Takes Part - Refuses Them - Runs Away From - Looking Horse (?). Born 1863 - dying 1909/10. Lewis (Louis) Blue Mountain - Deaf. Born 1869 - dying 1956. By the way I file I have a good grip on SB's biologic children, except for a couple of alternative names for example: Left on The Battlefield, Potala, and twins from -76 no names. Have a good day. wilson

I have to realize that my written English is not that good anymore, do to lack of practice, so I am very glad of the "spell check" function on this site. BUT could it be made so, that it also was open, when you answer a thread? Answering my FAMILY TREE-thread, there war no such function. Have a nice day to you all!! wilson

Hi HinTamaheca: Let me elaborate by an exampel: I have a little trouble with SB's family in my files. On these pages I came across a "tree" printet out i the vertical fasion. This left me confused, because old members and "nye" one's was being mixed together - so it seems to me. I misses a place, where I can see the relations horizontal. I tried your link, but nothing came out of it. To my excuse I have to tell you, I am more a "book-man" than an Internet-ditto" - but I am learning! Yours wilson

Span of interest is from the year 1700 till 1890, with the focus on the great Indian wars after 1860. I have a collection of over 20.000 historic persons.
