Hello - new here. For the last month my soul has been connecting to and learning about the native cultures here in the U.S., especially the era of the tribes being forced onto reservations. I have been learning much about the 'popular' heroes like Geronimo and Crazy Horse (and the more 'mature' heroes like Cochise and Sitting Bull and Chief Joseph), mainly interested in how they reacted to the force of the U.S. Army/gov't.
So, if there are other amazing/important 'heroes of the people', but who haven't gotten much 'press' in textbooks and documentaries, I would very much like to hear suggestions as to who to learn more about. (Such as Little Wolf & Dull Knife...I'd never heard of them in my life, but their story is epic and amazing.)
I'm asking here because there are simply SO many events and individuals and tribes - w/o guided learning it's too overwhelming.
Thank you for your time.

Wow - after ALL this time not ONE single reply to a sincere request for advice? What the hell?...
Couldn't anyone have taken the 5 seconds to write "Tecumseh" or anything else? Sheeeeesh.
