I found this picture today in a newspaper article from 1909. The man named John Colombe mentioned was my great great grandmother's brother. I would love to have a better copy of the picture. Has anybody seen this before or know where I could find a better copy? This is a Sicangu delegation in Washington D.C. in 1909 on the Whitehouse steps. Here is the full article from the "Gillette News," Gillette, Wyoming, 5 May 1909, page 11.

Sorry Jimmy,
I have not a better version of it. But what an interesting photo... it shows so many important Sicangu leaders! Great!!
Funny what the newspaper writes about "Swift Bear´s father" (huh?). Reuben is of course the son of Quick Bear, not Swift Bear.

at the end of the interesting article (for that time!) it says "on the verge of an uprising on the 4th of july.. 1908". Because the government forbade give away dancing. Ghostdancing, any dancing seemed a threat apparently. Ouf we escaped that one! Anyone some more on that story of rosebud summer 1908? As always I'm trying to make something of a picture, the face and the name I care less but the story, I hope this does not bother the quiet.
