I seem to have lost the online collection of Alexander Gardner's stereographs taken at the Treaty of Ft Laramie, 1868. They are in the Newberry Library, Chicago. Can anyone put up the link? They would make a good topic for discussion.

Last year it was possible to browse through the images of the Oglala Lakota College, but they changed their website. Does anyone know a solution to get in again??

Mike Cowdrey has just sent me this link to the newly online Wm Blackmore Collection at the British Museum. There is amazing stuff here including much new that we will all want to debate. Wow, this is amazing, like Christmas and Easter on one day (German saying ) So many Gurney and Gardner photos, some Laramie photos of 1868 never seen before, also those 1870 and 1872 delegation photos... I can´t believe it. Some individuals are not identified or misidentified, but I´m sure we will correct them here sooner or later... Great!

An incredible collection! Thanks for the link...lots of wonderful images. Among others, two 1872 Gardner portraits of Lakota delagates Little Wound and Red Leaf.

Wonderful, Kingsley! Thanks. (A general search of the British Museum collections under the keyword "Sioux," turns up additional photographs---but you probably knew that, and some nice ledger book drawings by Good Bear.)
