Jumping ThunderPsicha Wakiyaborn c1830, died 1901 Jumping Thunder succeeded Smutty Bear as leader of the Igmu or Cat People band of Yanktons. According to family tradition he was not only a warrior and headman but also a healer, who knew of plants and herbs to cure the sick. He signed the Treaty of 1858 and was part of the large Yankton delegation that went to Washington in 1867, where he was photographed at least in two individual portraits and in the big delegation photograph. Jumping Thunder died of smallpox in 1901. Jumping Thunder 1858 by Antonio Zeno Shindler Jumping Thunder 1867 by Antonio Zeno Shindler Jumping Thunder (date unknown) I can´t remember where I found the last photo, which unfortunately I don´t have in better quality. Seems to be a rare one. Please add anything you know about Jumping Thunder. Thanks.
