I found in a book where it talked about Wolfskin Necklace and Sittingbull when they had come down from Canada after the battle at greasy grass and onto Standing Rock together. The interpretor who was half white and half Lakota, had converted to Christianity, and when he translated Wolfskin Necklace, he changed it to Dogskin Necklace and dropped the Necklace, so we became Dogskin. when Sittingbull was killed and that group left for Pineridge, my grandfather Wolfskin Necklace left with them, and his buried at Wounded Knee. He is #34 on that list I believe.
I am requesting that the current tribal historian will correct these records. Mary P. was my uncle Albert Dogskin's mother, and he was the youngest of his sibling group I believe. Margaret Pongah was my dads mother, and he was the oldest of his sibling group, making my uncle Albert his half brother and youngest brother. which means Margaret was Ben Dogskin's first wife and Mary P his second wife and not the other way around.
