Does anyone have any info on the Tsokanende leader Yrigollen? I'm helping an Apache friend do his genealogy and the last name of Yrigollen is coming up through his fathers side.

Yrigóllen was the dominant Tsokanende or Chokonen leader from the early 1840 until his death. Miguel Narbona was the war leader of the Chokonen. Both closely coperated. Yrigóllen was killed in 1851 at Janos at the hands of Sonoran forces. He had a son, Miguel Yrigóllen, and a brother, Aguirre, who were subordinates of Cochise.

The best you can found are : Janos presidio census (from 1800 to 1858) Books of Historian Edwin Russell Sweeney of Mangas Coloradas and Cochise. You will find the much we get all of us aout Yrigollen. This chief was one of the leader in the Pozo Chiricahua victory against Sonoran soldiers.
