Comment by author of this post: Period publication, somewhat sensationalist and reflective of general public sentiments at the time. It has been used by numerous later authors as source material, though the contents would certainly need careful scrutiny. There were various other similar publications at the time primarily aimed towards monetary gains to cash in on then relevant media reports of events, really not much different today with the frequent "tell-all" books on current events.
