I recently visited our local college to demonstrate a website I updated. All of the computers were set to 800 x 600 resolution, which makes everything very large. I decided to get a second monitor so that I can view pages in that resolution and, at the same time, view them on my laptop in what is normal for me, 1280 x 800. Most of the photos posted on these message boards are fine for my laptop, but I have to scroll horizontally to see and read most threads on the new (800 x 600) monitor.
Dietmar and I want these boards to be as user-friendly as possible, so that's why I'm asking you to let me know which resolution you use most often. I can adjust the size of the photos so you won't have to scroll horizontally if most of you use a lower resolution, but I don't want to adjust them if you are happy as they are.
To check your screen resolution on Windows PCs, go to the display settings in the control panel.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

I have a 1280 X 800 screen, but don't know how common it is.

Diane,
I voted for 1280x800 because I also work mostly on my laptop and the boards look fine there. When I use my PC (800x600) I have the same problems you had regarding scrolling horizontally.

I voted for 1024 x 768, guess my computor is an odd-ball, but the pics are just fine for me!
Sure do enjoy the pics in this site!
