Does anyone know the identity of these individuals (what tribe) who "touched the pen" at FORT LARAMIE, WYOMING TERRITORY, November 6, 1868: MA-ZAH-ZAH-GEH, Iron Cane WA-KI-AH-WE-CHA-SHAH, Thunder Man WA-KI-AH-WA-KOU-AH, Thunder Flying Running WA-UMBLE-WHY-WA-KA-TUYAH, High Eagle www.pbs.org/weta/thewest/resources/archives/four/ftlaram.htm

georg, the treaty text reads that, of the Lakota signatories who signed the treaty on November 6th, 1868: "All of the Indians are Ogallalahs excepting Thunder Man and Thunder Flying Running, who are Brulés."
So, Iron Cane and High Eagle were Oglalas. The name translated as Thunder Flying Running is better translated as Chasing Thunder (Wakinyan Wakuwa).
There was a High Eagle (the same one? -- I don't know for sure) who organized the last Sun Dance on Pine Ridge Reservation in 1883. He belonged to the Oyuhpe band. I'll try to do some checking on these individuals.
