Charles Sumner Bunn was a professional guide, hunter, farmer, and one of the greatest carvers of shorebird decoys in the United States during the early years of the 20th century. His father, David Waukus Bunn was a whaler and sailed around the world on whaling ships that was the heritage of the Shinnecock and Montauk Indians.
