Good luck with your trip. please post some photos if you can - the landscape is huge and I don't think that it's possible for one man to see it all.
you probably already know this - please respect old Apache relics. If I see something old ... I cover it up and leave it. I say a prayer. All this land belonged to great warriors. Jasper4 said the right words in another thread ... the Nde warriors soared like eagles. All the land was Nde land, and truthfully - it still is. It belongs to the Spirit of the Nde people forever. The rest of us are only visitors.

dT, Do you have any idea who Jerry Egan is? I don't know who Chatto is, I mean his callsign on this site and he started this thread, but probably someone very knowledgeable about Apache. And if they are going on a hike in Apacheria, I'm sure it will be very respectful. Here is a take home assignment for you dT, research online Jerry Egan and then report back to us here...let us know what you found.

Jerry Egan - I have some idea who you might be. And if I am right - you have traveled very extensively across the Apache lands. I know this, and that's why I asked you to post photos. By no means did I intend to insult your integrity. I wish you well, and I hope that you have an excellent trip!
RedPaint - I have completed my personal ceremonies. I performed several trips to the sacred areas of Arizona for prayer and meditation. Soon I will be departing this country. I will miss seeing the Apache areas, but I must move forward. I will be doing my own part to help indigenous people ... but in other places.
It has been a pleasure talking to people on this forum.

To dT I guess I've been on you in some of these threads, but you obviously believe what you write and more power to you. I apologize for any slight I may have created and I actually hope you post some more. I live in Apacheria and want to see what's left conserved. Live long and prosper.

People seem to get emotional and nostalgic over false information...

Savant, Exactly!!!!~ The Apaches used to be a southern plains tribe and were pushed out to desert sw by the Comanches, the most brutal of native americans. What's really neat, and it blends into your post.......I've actually camped at Ojo Caliente. The Sullivan ranch has on their property a Mogillon culture pit house village. You can walk through it, don't touch. The springs are 105 degrees, and they actually 30 ft behind the small pool. Point being, the Apaches pushed the Mogillon people out. You "Apaches" should got there sometime.

Chiricahua/Warm Springs Apaches were in their own territory hundreds of years before the Comanche tribe existed. There is no indication that Chiricahua/Warm Springs Apaches had ever been a southern plains tribe. For Apaches to have pushed Mogollon people out, Apaches would have to have been present around the year 1150. Pleasant tour to whoever might be going.

Hey, not trying to pick a fight. The Apaches ran away from the Comanches, as fast as they could. The Gila cliff Dwellings are dated at 1280 so you are off by 100 years. The Moggolon were not waring people, the Apache were. The Athabskan Apaches and Navahoe who share the same language roots, yep plains indians.
