I am seeking information on a Yanktonais named Stab Plenty (possibly spelled Chapa ha), AKA Stab (spelled Chap pah in the 1886 Fort Peck Agency Census). He was appointed by Fort Peck Indian Agent N.S. Porter to be the captain of a newly organized 20-man Indian Police Force at the Agency in October 1879 (Annual Report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs to the Secretary of Interior for the year 1880, page 113). He is very briefly mentioned in "The History of the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation" by Miller et al., page 114. I am also seeking information on his possible interaction with a man named Hitchcock (possibly a military officer) on July 4, 1879. It is probable that Stab Plenty was a member of a Yanktonais warrior lodge.
