Searching the internet brought me to this great site. Joined yesterday. I was looking for the descendant's of Santana and came across a great thread listing his children's names. My deceased Mother-in-law was his great-granddaughter. Her name was Virginia / Abby Doyebi Stopp. Her Mother's name was Emma / Mary Doyebi. I don't know what Emma's (maiden?) name was. I do know her half-brother was James Auchiah. I never met Miss Emma, she passed before my husband and I were married. She died in 1977. Now all of her children are gone and her grandchildren are scatterd. So finding this site has been a blessing.
Emma was born about 1887 and lived her whole life in the Cache-Lawton area (Ft.Sill) Oklahoma her whole life.
She married Freddie Doyebi and raised her family.
O have searched the Kiowa Tribal Census of 1903 but can't seem to locate her name or I'm just overlooking it not know what her family name is. I know land allotments passed down to my husband list A Poodle Do Mah & Boechay as the original owner of the land. I don't know if it came down through her side of the family or Freddie Doyebi.
Now to make it more complicated. My husband is half Kiowa (on the tribal roll) and almost 1/2 Cherokee. He is also a member of the Cherokee Tribe. His Grandfathers name was Adam Stop, (I only find it spelled with 1 p) where his Father's name is spelled with 2 p's Stopp. His Grandmothers name was Lula McCarter.
She is listed on the Dawes roll BB 1/2. I can't find any information on Adam Stop before 1900 census. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again. AlaLeslie
