The Lakota nation lost another fluent speaker yesterday when Leksi Albert left this world to join his relatives in what must be a grand "Lakota-speaking only" story session. No words can describe his dedication to language, culture and spirituality. I only hope that someone who is not afraid to muddy the waters will carry on with his work.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of this great preserver of Lakota language and tradition. My sympathies to all his family.

Losing Albert leaves a big hole. I was honored to know him. A beautiful man. The Hollow Horn Bear sun dance is later this month up near St. Francis. His leadership will be missed. Prayers to his family.
