Almost unnoticed by the public Mary Brave Bird aka Crow Dog aka "Lakota Woman" walked on to the spirit world on February 14, 2013 in Nevada at the age of 58. Born on the Rosebud Indian Reservation, she became an American Indian activist and writer. The mother of seven children took part in the 1973 Wounded Knee occupation. Later she wrote the the books of worldwide fame Lakota Woman (1990) and Ohitika Woman (1993). "Lakota Woman" recounts her life on the Rosebud Indian Reservation and her involvement in the American Indian Movement. "Ohitika Woman" gives an account of her later life. May this spirited woman rest in peace. More information on Mary: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Brave_Birdwww.nativehistoryassociation.org/marybravebirdcrowdog.php
