I have a few old Nebraska History magazines that I was browsing through and I came across this photo that I thought might be of interest to some. The issue it came from is: Nebraska History: A Quarterly Vol. 39, No. 2 June, 1958 Article: Journal of an Indian Fighter, The 1869 Diary of Major Frank J. North The date at the bottom which is unclear is 1911. I could not find any notations about who took the photo or where the editor of the article, Donald F. Danker, got the photo. Attachments:

Hello, Thank You, first of all, from a brand new member, for your contributions here. Among other things I have recently sought information re: The Pawnee Scouts, Billy (Belly) Osborne, and Blue Hawk (Go-tow-we-couts-la-re-use). I was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma, quite near, I believe, to the land which was patented to Blue Hawk-now Pawnee Bill's Ranch Museum. In addition, this "Billy" bears my own last name, which for me is quite interesting, considering the potential family tie. What I have found to date concerning either is more disparse rather than otherwise. I have found several photographs of Blue Hawk, Pawnee Bill, and Billy (one just yesterday), but nothing concise re: The Scouts which will not require a month to decipher. I have wondered as well, whether Blue Hawk is related to the Echo-Hawk family. I thank you for the information which you inputed about the NE magazine, but I have not found it/them yet readable. Another (article) which I search for is entitled: "Pawnee Scouts: Unparalled fighters...: by Bill Judge. I found an image for page one of this article at geneologyimagesofhistory(.com?), but can't find the article or magazine itself. Thanks once again for your input! Don't know whether all my attatchments took or not, but I will try again in new message. Blue Hawk is seated the second from the right looking at the photo. Attachments:

In the photo of six men standing wearing cowboy hats, Pawnee Bill (Gordon W. Lillie) is he on the far left. I have included three, I think, photos of Blue Hawk. This is one (earlier) photo of Billy Osborne. Another (which I am now unable to find) he is clearly abit older and is photographed again, with fellow Pawnee Scouts: Leading Fox, Robert Taylor, Echo Hawk, Captain Jim, Simon Adams, and John Buffaloe.
