"Jim Thorpe's soul wanders until he is properly laid to rest"
I would like to ask for everyone's help and support for a friend of mine! His name is Richard (Dick) Thorpe, the youngest son of Native American (Sauk & Fox) athlete Jim Thorpe!
Dick (age 80) and his only surviving brother William (Bill) Thorpe, age 84, have for years been trying to bring their fathers remains from Pennsylvania back home to be buried with family, among his own people, on traditional Sauk & Fox land.
I spoke to Dick a few days ago (he lives a few miles east of me) and asked his "permission" to open this thread on this forum and he gave me his full "blessing" to do so. In his own words Bill said, "That would be GREAT!!!!"
Bill and I need all the support we can get!!!! If possible....let's a;; "pull together" on this one! Just go to the link below and it will inform you with all the facts.
Thanks everyone!!!!

(Jim's children were in the midst of a three-day Indian burial ritual for their father with the body laid out in an Indian burial lodge on the Sac and Fox reservation. Jim Thorpe's... third wife arrived with state troopers and demanded the body. The troopers escorted the body to a waiting hearse leaving Jim’s children and family members stunned. The body was basically sold as a tourist attraction in Pennsylvania who renamed their town of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk to Jim Thorpe. Only two of Jim Thorpe's children remain living, William and Richard "Dick" Thorpe, who continue the battle to bring their fathers body home to his ancestral grounds in Oklahoma where he wanted to be buried. Jim's last two children are up in age, it would be so nice to finely bring their father home for Indian burial before they too cross over. Help bring Jim home by getting the word out and taking action....)
