My GG grandmonther was Marpiya Masewin who married Louis Frederic LaCroix, one of the first white settlers in Renville County. They both went to Fort Ridgely during the 1862 Uprising. In the book 'Spirit Car' by Diane Wilson, she writes that Marpiya was the daughter of the War Chief at Chief Wacouta's Village who died of cholera in 1856. Does anyone have any names of those subchiefs under Chief Wacouta? Thanks.
