Hi, My name is Jacquie Sharpe and I am hoping to recieve some help in tracing my family. I have attached a photograph of my Uncle, Don Sharpe. He is 85 years old at this time. A couple of years ago I joined a d.n.a site and did a swab on my Uncle. Our family history has been a mystery, it had always been said that my Grandmother, my Uncle's mothers father was a Native American from Dakota. My Great Grandmothers name was Effie Hernamin. she was born in North Dakota in 1877, her daughter Belle was born in North Dakota in 1901. From what I can understand, Effie became pregnant and was forced to marry a man by the last name of Mc Donald, they moved to Mirror Alberta and then lived seperately. Effie became a renound mid-wife. The d.n.a. test on my Uncle proved the "rumour" of his heritage but I am having difficulty getting further in my search. Because of my Uncle's age, I am hoping to get some help from someone who maybe has a connection to us or has gone through a similar search. I find it all quite confusing in the d.n.a. world! Thanks for any help ayone can give me. Jacquie Sharpe B.C. Attachments:

Oh my....I have just found your message to me almost one year later. So sorry for not responding sooner! Yes this is our Effy that you have found. I will be thrilled to hear anything more you may know of her. My Uncle is still healthy and would love to know more of our family history. Cheers and Happy New year. Sincerely, Jacquie
