Hi, I am Trying to Find more information for my Grandfather about his G Grandmother Anna kicks the Bear & her family History. About all we Know of Her is That She married my Grandpa's G grandfather (Charlie Marshall) & Their Son Was His Grandfather ( James Marshall) However, we havn't been able to find out Directly Who she was related too, or Which Band she Belonged to (my Bets are Hunkpapa or Mnicoujou) We believe (through the records & information that we Do have) She is related somehow To Good Voice Bull ( Thomas Good Voice Bull shows up as one of our relatives) although the Relation is not really Clear, whether she Is a Daughter or a Niece of Good voice Bull. I would Really Appreciate any help I can get, My grandfather is very Interested in His Ancestors & is Curious to know more about Them & where they came from (as am I) any information would be Very informative and helpful Thank you very much again! (sorry if I put this in the wrong forum column : o )

My name is Joe Waller, Kenosha Wisconsin. Anna and Charles were Gr-Gr to me. I am 60. My mother was born in Bonesteel, SD. Her grandmother was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Marshall Lindley. My understanding is that Anna was Hunkpapa. I really don't have much information about her, just an obituary. I do have an old photo, taken around 1924/1925, showing four generations: my mother (Helen Elizabeth Schonebaum), my grandmother (Helen Lindley), my gr-grandmother (Lizzie), and Anna. It's not very good, but interesting anyway. Had have been taken in Bonesteel. Anna surely passed away shortly afterward, in Bonesteel.
I don't know how to send a photo on this service.

My name is Amy Lindley, my father was Evans Lindley, his father was Charles (Irving) Lindley.. My parents died in 1979 so I know little. When I asked him our Native last name he said Bear. Anna Kicks the Bear was linked to Iron Cedar. their daughter named Lizzie Marshall married Sam Lindley,my great grandfather,I think. My father said very little about his heritage. When I asked our Native family name he said Bear. I am a member of the Cheyenne River Reservation. I am 7.5 Plains Indian according to 23 and me .😊
