There is a 1867 Shindler photograph of a "Spotted Horse" (NAA Smithsonian Inst. OPPS NEG 03329 NAA INV 06554700), a Two Kettle. Do you think this could be the same man that Waggoner calls Black Spotted Horse and writes of as having been born in 1849 into the Red Water band and died at 81 in 1930? He appears as Joseph Black Spotted Horse for the last time in the 1932 census at age 81.
Thanks.

swiftbird: I don't know much about this man---which is why I don't know if he's the same man as Spotted Horse in the photograph. I have CR census info from 1932 that shows him with a wife named Julie and two daughters: Ellie (your Ellen?) and Agnes.
