I posted this in another section as well. I know these are chiefs who went to Washington D.C. as delegates as you can see by the banner with the date 1925. I found official photos on this website with these chiefs in Washington. One is a Rosebud Chief. I don't know his name. The two smiling little girls are my mother and my aunt. My grandfather, James McGregor, was an Indian Agent with various reservations and had a good reputation among the Native Americans. My mother, Jean McGregor Heemstra, was Head Start Director in later years. Could someone identify the chiefs for me? Thank you.

This is the photo that I found with the same chiefs in it as with my mother.

Hello vmcgregor,
and welcome to these boards.
Not easy. Are you sure both photos show the same delegation? In the second photo for example is William Spotted Tail, who is not in the picture with your relatives.
I´ll look through the Sicangu portraits I have.

Eventually I ´ve found names of the eight 1925 Rosebud delegates. According to the Evening Star (March 11 & March 14, 1925), the names are: William Spotted Tail, Clement Whirlwind Soldier, Joseph Leader Charge (aka Leading Charge), Pretty Bird, Henry Standing Bear, War Bonnet, Makes Good and Kills-A-Head (aka Kills First). I´ve identified 5 men in this photo, do we know who the others were?: So it is Leader Charge standing far right in the first photo in this thread.
