The English Westerners Society has just published an attractive pamphlet called "Aspects of Lakota leadership" with an essay of Kingsley's called "Sitting Bull and Lakota Leadership" and an old essay of Joseph Balmer titled "The Leadership of the Brule Sioux" first published by the society in 1963. This publication is well worth getting hold of if you can.

I've searched, but can't find how to obtain this publication. Does anyone have a link?

It's available through the English Westerners' Society: www.english-westerners-society.org.ukIt is not yet on the website, but you can contact the secretary to join and get it as part of your subscription, or buy it through Westerners Publications (which has a link form the English Westerners' website). If anyone is interested an has a problem with ordering, they can send me a PM. Gary

It's good too, athough you suspect the Brule leadership paper would be less influenced by Hyde had it been published today.
